Do I need to give a reason to see the information I am requesting?

No! You do not have to give a reason why you want to see the information.

Can ASANI withhold any information?

In some cases, you would be allowed to make a request on someone else’s behalf. This is often necessary for an attorney acting on behalf of a client, or it could simply be that an individual wants someone else to act for them.

In these cases, ASANI will need to satisfy itself that the third party making the request has the individual’s permission to act on their behalf. It is the third party’s responsibility to provide this evidence, which could be, among others, a power of attorney.

What if ASANI refuses to respond to my request?

That shouldn’t happen! As ASANI gives you full right to manage your listings i.e. EDIT, ARCHIVE or DELETE, etc. You have also choice to CLOSE YOUR ACCOUNT.

If you face any difficulty in this process, it is recommended that you contact us to establish the circumstances.

Is there a fee?

No. Any communication and any action taken as a consequence of your request shall be provided free of charge. Nevertheless, where such requests are manifestly unfounded or excessive, ASANI will be entitled to either:

  • charge a reasonable fee taking into account the administrative costs of providing the information or communication or taking the action requested; or
  • refuse to act on the request
